Can you establish a date for when the Kleenexes where discarded? What would this reveal? In order to create a genetic profile for the Local, State and Federal agencies, what marker system must you use? What extraction protocol, do you feel most competent with and why? If that is the case of investigation, the sample to be collected from the kleenexes to recover the DNA. In case of criminal investigation to know whom the blood stain is, DNA profiling should be done. During DNA profiling, it might be possible to get contamination from the discarded kleenexes while taking sample. In case of forensic investigation DNA finger printing is the best method to prove the person accused is a victim. For that the marker system to be used is Restriction fragment length polymorphism or RFLP. Unrelated people have different short tandem repeats (STR), so PCR connected STR analysis also discriminate the DNA between two unrelated individuals.
