Is this an alright aim and hypothesis for my question 'Is it alright to eat cooked meat that had been left out for approx four hours?
AIm: To test whether or not it is all right to eat cooked meat that has been left out for four hours.

Hypothesis: Food left exposed to temperatures between 5degrees c and 60 degrees c in a non sterile environment for more than 2 hours become dangerous for human re-consumption / consumption.

It would also be nice if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how I could expand it

it depends really...unless you're talking about 3rd world country where the sanitary conditions are pretty iffy (I would suggest NO on that) but in general, right off the bat when you're done cooking and the temperature starts cooling, no matter what bacteria and what not will grow when the temperature hits it's prime suitable range (yes...there are some bacteria's that can be active at high temps too) rule of thumb, do you really want to eat meat that is that old? do you know what happens to the meat? flavor wise and also the tender parts become a bit not so great sometimes...o ya and the grease and fats that were all liquidy become solids too, have fun smearing hardened fat (not as flavorable as butter but neither healthier either) I mean, seriously, this meat has been out for 4 hours!! (tho some people actually do like it that way....) depending on the whole area you place the meat in is also a big factor...aka, is the place got big mold and fungal problem and is there alot of airborne pathogens; you really may consider those as well. just set out ur meats and take a swab from it between the time it was right off the bat cooked and that 4 hour old meat, and put it in the petri dish and see what grows on it in an incubator.
