Basically, how does it work?
Why aren’t antibodies needed to target the particles to the tumor?
Iron nanoparticles: What’s the issues and how is it dealt with?
By what figure of merit or metric do they say their product is about 16x more effective than previous tries?
How do the measure the increase in tumor temperature?
How much can you inject into a typical lab rats before killing 50% of them?
PLease answer only if you know the topic.
Explanation / Answer
Iron particles when wrapped in a biocompatible shell it responds to the magnetic field and generates lot of heat that destroys the tumor cells.
Since, iron particles direcly dissipated into tumors through newly produced blood vessels which are leaky accumulate the nanoparticles easily and destroy tumors by producing high amounts of heat and for this process antibodies are not required.
Basically, iron particles does not last for longer periods in the body. To deal with the problem they are coated with a biocompatible shell that prevents the destruction of iron particles in the body and extens their half life in the body. Simple intravenous injection of biocompatible iron nanoparticles can be administered and is very easy.
The graph plotted against half life of iron particles in tumor to nontumor ratio versus time in hours resulted that product is about 16x more effective than previous tries.
Insertion of camera that measures temperature records temperature and at lethal temperature tumor cells liquify and nontumor cells or normal cells remain cool.
Intravenous injection of biocompatible iron nanoparticles into typical lab rats before killing 50%. These nanoparticles are safe, radiation & chemo therapies can be avoided with this effective treatment which is very promising in curing cancerous tissues.
