Ans a) Proteins can be identified with a high level of probability evem with low sequence coverage in peptide mass mapping technique. Now peptide mass mapping is a technique that identifies a protein from mass spectrometry data and primary sequence database. By using high level of probability using an appropriate scoring algorithm the closest match can be identified. it does not depends on the sequence coverage. If the unknown protein is present in the sequence database then the aim is to pull out that protein.
