Hello, This is a Organic Chemistry GC analysis....
I performed a fractional distillation on a solution that contains two unknown alcohols, then fromed GC on the first (A) and fourth(D) samples taken from the distillation process. Here I have included GC's of the sample that has all possible alcohols in it, my original sample that before distillation containing my two alcohols, and both A and D samples. Please help me figure out the % compostion of my alcohols in both samples. I believe the way you figure this out is by first finding the corrected % areas, but I really am not sure. Please help!!!

According to GC, Solvent RT is 1.1 (varies from 1.10 to 1.19)
Comparatively low boiling Alcohol's (LBA) RT is 1.4 (varies from 1.44 to 1.51)
Comparatively low boiling Alcohol's (HBA) RT is 2.6
Relative % of alcohols excluding solvent will be= one of the alcohol percentage/ (both alcohol percentage) x 100%
Now, % composition of 1st sample, LBA (%)= 9.1/(9.1+69.4) x100= ~11.6%
HBA (%)= 69.4/(9.1+69.4) x100= ~88.4%
Similarly
In 2nd sample of LBA (%)= 23.9/(23.9+59.1) x100= ~28.7
HBA (%)= 59.1/(23.9+59.1) x100= ~71.2%
