Ksp = [Mg2+][CO3^2-]

[Mg2+] = 0.1 M

so,

[CO3^2-] needed for precipitation = 6.82 x 10^-6/0.1 = 6.82 x 10^-5 M

Na2CO3 to be added for precipitation = 6.82 x 10^-5 M x 0.2 L x 106 g/mol

                                                             = 1.45 mg

So, any amount below 1.45 mg of Na2CO3 would not cause precipitation of MgCO3

(b) With AgNO3

No precipitate is formed.
