Explanation / Answer

The primary component of the article is the role of a leader in trying to transform their organizations. When transforming an organization, a leader's objective is to improve performance by changing behavior as well as capabilities within the organization. The leadership in any organization should drive and facilitate the change in order to ensure that the transformation is integrated, focused and in balance. This will help the organization to stay relevant in the current dynamic business environment.

The articel talks about the mess that Nestle's Indian operations found itself in, after its instant noodles brand Maggi was banned due to health concerns. In the wake of this crisis, Nestle inroduced several transofrmational measures to help the company emerge from the crisis. In my analysis of the article, the role of top leadership and senior management is vital to introduce radical changes. Unless and until the changes are sponsored by the leaders, they will die out and will not be adopted by the organization. Nestle India's Managing Director introduced radical changes in the decision making process within the company. Now, lesser people make important decisions, resulting in the organization making quick decisions. After doing the analysis and in my opinion, if the leadership facilitates the changes, then the desired outcome will be achieved, otherwise not.
