Question

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS WORK RELATED PROJECT EXAMPLE? ELABORATE AND EXPLAIN YOUR OPINION

An example of a work related project that I am familiar with involves the execution of our Organizational Inspection Program (OIP). Within the constructs of my organization everyone has a piece of the operational pie, which aids in maintaining our day to day activities. From physical training to equipment use there is some sort of guideline in place to ensure safety and appropriate use of assets by other employees in completing their job. One way in which we accomplish this is by doing annual and quarterly inspections of the equipment, policies, procedures and certifications. These tasks are broken down by additional duty representatives whose jobs range from those who inspect the equipment, those who actual make repairs or coordination, and those who complete required paperwork and automated functions. All of these tasks and subtasks are extremely important and one person failing in a particular area could potentially cause the whole process to fail. A CPM/PERT chart is cost effective as this allows those individuals who are completing the task to do this in a way where the least amount of time is spent on completing the tasks and they are done in an efficient and timely manner that is organized from start to finish. By identifying the time required to complete the tasks and the order of steps needed staff managers can plan the timing of projects using sequential activities.
