Question
Thinking back on the last few months, consider a time when you encountered a friend or business associate who promised or agreed to do something but did not follow through. For example, did someone agree to sell you something but at the last minute changed the price? Or did someone agree to perform a service, but then later said he or she was too busy? Relate the facts of your example. Then, based on the materials in the reading and lecture, explain why the facts you presented did or did not meet the legal requirements for a contract. Be sure to support your response.
Explanation / Answer
usually our regular actions and promisses do not have any legal provisions. what ever the actions we committed or promissed, will be about future only. i.e, what we are going to be do is contingent with many other aspects, anything may happens in between or during and we may fail to deliver what we promised to those. a simple example i will lend you some money if my real estate property sold out. here lending money is linked with sale of asset, if the asset sold, i may give money to him. if not sold i can not lend money to him.
everyone works for self needs and self benefits; if i get a chance to buy an asset, i will choose the one who offers me at lower cast than other; in the same way if i have two buyers for my product, i only choose the one who pays higher price. here self benefit is more important to people, for that they will works. in this process they may not really considered their promises. legally it may not crime but ethically it is not acceptable.
