T is your first week at an organization. While you have lots of experience in operations management and customer service, the organizational structure, communication channels, system, and procedures are still new to you.
During the interview process, you became familiar with the problems facing the organization, and you are eager to apply your new ideas.
After introduction and exposure as a new team member, it is time to start interacting with individuals using lateral, downward, and upward communication in order to get information, figure out your team players, and find people of influence.
Record a 2-to 3-minute audio message to your team members using one of the methods of influence discussed in your text. Your goal is to persuade them to form a work group to identify and solve the problems facing the organization.
Give thought to how you would construct your message in order to influence individuals to cooperate. You want your coworkers to relax and accept the fact that you are here to make their jobs easier rather than harder.

Hello Everyone,
As you are aware that i have joined recently and am new to the system. During the interview process itself, i fugured out there are challenges which the organisation is facing currently and during this turbulent time we need to fold up our sleeves and get our hands dirty to allow organisation to rise.
I have been educated about work being done by all of you and i really appreciate the efforts put in by all of you individually and as a team but somehow those efforts are not getting reflected at the organisational front. Something is wrong which we need to correct. What I feel is we need to regroup ourselves as per the situation so that we can showcase our capabilities in a better way. Also, there seems to be a communication gap ( internal and external) which i feel should not be the case as per our skillset and experience.
If we get these two things corrected, i am pretty sure we would see a postive change within a weeks time. I have prepared the groups in which i want you guys to work and they would be shared once we are done here. I want each one of you to cooperate and help each other so that we can sustain and come out with flying colours. In case any of you have any sort of concern, feel free to reach out to me at any hour of the day.
I am here to make our jobs easier and since i am also new to the system, i would request your cooperation too. Lets do it together and showcase what we are capable off.
