1(a) 5 antecedent causes of conflicts:-
*Interpersonal relationships- In an organization when different people come to work there always a possibility that they don't mesh up and conflict arises.
*Poor Communication:- bad communication or gap in communication is the main reason behind organizational conflicts.
*Limited resources:- When company starts emphasizing over cost cutting like reducing employees facilities then employees feel they are competing each other for resources.
*Harassment:- Company which doesn't have strict guidelines against harassment, sexual or racial harassment takes root there which led to organizational conflicts.
*Lack of accountability:-When employees doesn't take responsibility of work assigned to them then lack of accountability occurs which led to conflicts in an organinzation
1(b) Day of contemplation:-
It means leave for decision making. When a person held irresponsible for his job he gets leave to rethink about being in job or to left it .
This is important for an organization as this conduct of employer give employee to felt that he has been treated as an adult and his decisions are important for an organization and because of this he can give his best to the organization.
1(c) Dominating style of conflict management is a self oriented conflict management where the one who is performing it doesn't have interest in other and only think about himself. It is done by person who is tyrant. A person should take these decisions only after considering organization's goals.
It is an appropriate style of conflict management when time is very less and one have to achieve the goals. It is used when self concern is higher and other's concerns are lower. It is inappropriate for every working climate because it is the bully approach.
1(d) 5 major trends conspiring organizational conflicts inevitable:-
*More electronic communication and less personal face to face interaction
*Constant change in the working of organization
*Great diversity of employees
*Cross culture dealings of global economy
*More teams
1(e) Yes, organiation can suffer too little conflicts and some times too much conflicts.
Every business wants to avoid conflict at all but once there exist no conflict the business may be pushed to great loss. When conflict arises, to manage it ,different step and measures is to be taken. Which led to improvement in organizational behavior. It also make employees to involve in communication within the organization.So conflict is important for an organization.
