Question
How should the response phase be defined, and what are some significant activities you would undertake as an emergency manager during that time period? This discussion focuses on the response phase of the disaster cycle and activities undertaken as part of that phase. You will discuss the start and finish points of the response phase, which can vary, and involve changing and dynamic sets of activities. Consider how the scope of a disaster affects response— from a more traditional disaster like a tornado to the massive impact of the Japanese tsunami. Also consider and discuss when the transition starts from the short-to long-term recovery, focusing on the activities of that change. You may consider generating and sharing a list of activities that occur over time. Respond to the following: How should the response phase be defined, and what are some significant activities you would undertake as an emergency manager during that time period?

The significance activities that should be undertaken by the emergency manager are as follows:
1. The most prone areas people are required to remove to the safest place so that they should not face any consequences.
2. The people who live near sea or river or lake are required to alert them about the incident.
3. As soon as the alert comes the school and colleges are required to stop immediately going to the schools and will give them the instructions to move into a safe place.
4. The communication system will automatically stop as in this situation the technology degrades so it is necessary to use radio to get the local update of the information.
5. To keep the life of the people safe they are required to move to the safe places and during the Tsunami water level increases so they are required to be kept in those places which are above 15feet long in height from the ground level.
6. Optimum dry foods along with water, sanitary facilities, doctors and other medical practitioners including medicines are also required to be stored for the benefit of the people in case of any problem.
