Three dimensions of leadership constraint to the operations of a police department
1. Leadership by Action : here the police department needs towork by their actions.They need toperformtheir duty perfectly , working 24 *7 and bringing peace to the country and thus they are being considered as leaders.
2. Leadership by Influence : Police department can influence the people to work in closed rules and regulations due to the influence of their post and seniority. They can threaten the people that they would be punished if they do not follow the rules and norms.
3.Leadership by Expertise :Police can also attain the leadership position due to their expertise in the field.They have gained much of expertise by working in the closed conditions and thus can demand otehr people to follow the instructions given by them.
Leadership has a constraint,otherwise leaders would work erratically and does not bring any peace and harmony in the society. It would make the condition chaotic.
Constraint on leadership is good in order to put a restrictions on the way they operate. This would form a defined guideline how the leaders are supposed to operate,otherwise they would behave erratically and create a chaotic condition.
