The jail direct supervision is the supervisory theory which highlights a close monitoring of the employee by the supervisor and make corrections in their performances. here the supervisors treats the employees as the inmates and focuses on each and every activities of the employees closely. This approach can make the employee more work oriented and can also put some value to the performance of the employees.

The other theories or the models of the supervision includes the cognitive-behavioral supervision, person centered supervision, discrimination model, systems approach etc. When all these models are taken into consideration each model follows a specific guideline, rules and regulations. Here the employees are supervised either in a participative manner or through providing attention to their performance, attitudes, behaviour etc. All the models provides specific importance to the employee satisfaction and its relationship to the employee performance.

When the direct jail supervision is compared with all these supervisory models, it seems to be more awkward. It provides least attention to the morality and the freedom of the employees to work peacefully. The close monitoring may eliminate the mistakes and errors in the workplace but it can make the employees irrigated and can impact the employee retention badly. Hence this theory cannot be considered as the best model for the supervision.

The model which can meet the requirement of the management, inmates(employees) and the correction officers can be the integrative method of supervision. With this method the supervisor can adopt the methods which are appropriate for the situation like the person centered, cognitive, systems approach etc.
