Question
You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. Explanation / Answer
Successful leader by being humble
Bible teaches that humility comes before honour. Moses was a humble man. He represented even the interests of those who were critical of him. We should not compete, and, compare to feel better about ourselves. Assess your character by comparing yours to Jesus'. This is where humility will come from. See yourself in relation to the task you have been entrusted with. People with humility do not deny their power; it passes through them, not, from them. One must realize that one is not important as compared to the task. Be objective, and, detached. Subordinate oneself to the task. Be a servant to the goal, or, to the mission. Be humble, and, see yourself in light of the task you have been given. Humility is not the lack of love, power, humility, and, self esteem. Know where you come from, where you are going, and, treat people with love, and, respect.
The consistent elements of leadership are
True leadership is about being a servant to those in need. Each purpose carries out his or her role to achieve the common purpose. Individuals should be used for their gifts, for the benefit of the community. Others do accept ones' leadership when one works towards a common goal. Do not deny a person opportunity because of arrogance, or, class status. Followers can be gathered from the bottom of the social structure; through a message that encourages others to follow them. Serve those who are suffering at the hands of injustice. Show compassion, and, challenge the entrenched powers. Integrity contradicts traditional leadership. Others should be encouraged to follow the leaders in their quest. Leaders exhibit a charismatic personality that leads others by example.
Jesus challenged pushing & shoving to get ahead. Leading like him requires one to think of himself with sober judgment; in accordance with the measure of faith the God has given to that person.
