Patient Autonomy involves confidentiality and the rights to privacy regarding any healthcare decisions pertaining to the patient. The information should be maintained with confidentiality and the rights of privacy of the patients. These components of Patient Autonomy need to be maintained at all levels to avoid any violation of the legal laws and regulations. The types of informed consent are of two types such as clinician-centered and patient centered. Clinician centered refers to the doctor’s decision to say only the minimum required to protect the doctor from any assault. Patient-centered refers to the situation in which the doctor gives all the information to the patient to make an informed choice.
