Answer:
Insiders often go unnoticed because they are trusted individuals within the organization. They also have special access to sensitive information, database codes, and a diverse list of methods to best compromise software based on their acute familiarity with the organization’s specific operating procedures. Moreover, such individuals may have a special motive to transfer an organization’s intellectual property to competitors (especially if such employees happen to work for another company due to outsourcing). For example, an employee who is laid off due to outsourcing may go to another company and share sensitive information pertaining to how an organization conducts a certain procedure. They may also simply hack into an organization’s database without the company even knowing, as it might appear as normal employee traffic. Close monitoring of network activity is essential to best prevent such contingencies from occurring; a collective culture of security in the workplace environment is by far the best policy to ensure smooth, secure operations across the board. Human factor is the weakest link and the center of compromise. Insiders or employees typically have certain privileges and access to company data. When insiders get compromised the organization’s data is compromised
