Hello Everyone,

When using a database, there are many different types of elements that would make queries and tables. Two elements that are important to remember composite key and composite attributes. Each of these are what identifies the content in a database. " A composite key is a combination of two or more columns in a table that can be used to uniquely identify each row in the table"(Techopedia). In order to identify a certain row you will need the keys to be chosen first. A composite attribute is made up of numerous attributes to identify an entity. For example, if you are looking up a person by their first and last name, once you go into their information, their phone number would be considered a composite attribute.

Explanation / Answer

I believe that it would be much simpler and effective if we would use primary keys and foreign keys isntead of composite keys and attributes because in case of composite keys, there is a combination of columns that will iniquely identify a particular record but in Primary key it is generally a single column or filed that is able to identify a record, for example there is a unique Id is given to all the employees which will determine and differentiate them from one another and can be used quite a lot as well.
