Question

Paramount to the success of any organizational restructuring or reengineering is a leader’s ability to “know where the organization needs to go.” This is called the vision, and the ability to create the right vision can determine the success or failure of a change management strategy. Discuss the principle components of an effective and compelling vision. Then present the vision for your current/previous organization, detailing how you would improve upon that vision to ensure that it conforms to your earlier list of the principle components of an effective vision.

Embed course material concepts, principles, and theories, which require supporting citations along with two scholarly peer-reviewed references in supporting your answer. Keep in mind that these scholarly references can be found in the Saudi Digital Library by conducting an advanced search specific to scholarly references.

You need to reply to at least two peer Discussion Question post answers to this weekly Discussion Question. These post replies need to be substantial and constructive in nature. They should add to the content of the post and evaluate/analyze that post answer. Normal course dialogue doesn’t fulfill these two peer replies but is expected throughout the course. Answering all course questions is also required.

Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.

Explanation / Answer

Change management can be one of the most critical stages of a company where leaders' vision and values come into play. When a company has a major change in terms of operation strategies/ standard of working/ company operating procedure, it becomes very important to retain employees and make them feel that this change is for the better. Now, the topic under discussion here is the "vision" of the leader. All changes have a motive/ background behind them and in this case, the motivation behind change can be considered as the vision of the leader. For example, the vision of a company like Facebook's CEO is to create a social media platform which is free to use for everyone with access to the internet. Now, with time, the company might have to make some changes to its strategy and working principles because of changing policies around them. Due to this SOPs (standard operating procedures) within the companies might change. In these circumstances, it's very important for the leader to maintain faith in employees and make them believe that these changes are in line with the companies original vision.
