Question
Three years ago, Cecilia opened Too Cute!, a company that sells supplies and party favors for baby showers. Since her business has been rather low-volume from the beginning, Cecilia has chosen to operate from a store on Etsy rather than her own website or a brick and mortar location. Now she has decided to take her business to the next level by making the move to a dedicated website. Since the expense involved in this move will be substantial, she wants to make sure it is a profitable one by executing a successful promotional campaign.
1.) What type of campaign would ensure the greatest possibility of success in Cecilia’s marketing endeavor? Select two of the following to explain whether Cecilia should include it in her strategy and why. For those which she should include, describe how she should utilize them.
a.) Advertising
b.) Direct marketing
c.) Personal selling
d.) Sales promotions
d.) Digital marketing
e.) Public relations
Explanation / Answer
According to me Cecilia has very low visibility and wants to go for a significant change in visibility. So, she should go for-
1. Advertising: This is a costly means but it can give 'Too Cute' maximum visibility. Cecilia can advertise through different channels such as television, radio, hoarding , banners to get in touch with the prospective customers. Since she has a very specific customer base, she can use banners or pamphlets at maternity homes or at hospitals to get in touch with prospective customers.
2. Digital marketing: This is a rather conservative way of getting in touch with people. These days people are mostly active on social media. Through Google Adwords, Adsense, Facebook, twitter she can advertise her products. She can even open up a facebook page for her store. Using Google Adwords she can control the words that people specially search in order to seek out for services that she offers.
