Question
1. Think about the last paper, report, business email you wrote. What percentage of your writing time did you spend on each phase of ACE process (analyzing, composing, evaluating)? Will you change your approach in the future? Why or why not? 2. Audience is at the core of analyses in ACE to deliver effective communication and achieve purposeful outcomes. However, sometimes you need to communicate with people you do not know. What methods can you suggest to learn about and analyze an unfamiliar audience?
Explanation / Answer
I pay almost 60-70% of my time in the ACE process. I will try to stick more to the ACE process until it becomes a habit and my communication and writing improves to an exceptional level.
When the audience is not familiar it is best to first interact with them which helps in understanding the psychology of the audience and hence we can alter our communication to suit the needs of the audience. The body language plays a very important role in terms of facing the unfamiliar audience and understanding them requires a close eye for detail and ability to converse with people to make them feel easy and make the surrounding more comforting for the audience.
