Next, tell us about a time that you were part of a project team. This may be work-related, but most of us have additional experiences working with groups on projects in other areas of life. For instance, you may have worked on a group project for a course that proved an interesting experience. If you have been in the military, you may have been assigned to work on a particular project for a period of time. If you have been on a committee at church or part of a volunteer team, project work may have been involved. 

Once you have selected a project, describe it and discuss your role. How was the project initiated? How were your role and responsibilities decided? What did you do to fulfill your role? What obstacles did you or the group encounter? Were you able to work through them? If so, how? In the end, did the project team deliver the product originally envisioned, or did this deliverable change during the course of the work? Sometimes groups disband or fail to deliver; if this happened, explain why and what can be learned from this experience

Project Name: Library Management Software Development

Project Members: 4 high school students including me and the librarian.

Project Description: I developed a library management software along with 4 other peers of mine when in high school. The requirement was to have a software that could do the following.

We spent about a semester to carry out the project. It was involved from the beginning since we had to learn all the basics of the development of a software. We started with studying the existing softwares in this domain and how they are implemented. My role was to set up the database in a format that can be easily queried. I designed the database schema. To do that, first I came up with an ER model and got it reviewed by the other members. It got modified a number of times after reviews.

I implemented the database tables in mysql and the querying was very simple. There were obstacles such as integrating the code with the UI developed by another member of the team. It took considerable amount of time to do the integration and testing.

Finally we had a working product and our school administration was happy with it.

In case of a failure we can always view it positively by analysing the factors that led to failure and learning from them. But we did not face any such situation.
