Based on your research and understanding, complete the following discussions:

Part 1

Imagine a company with a large number of systems. If the system you are currently developing is going to interact with another system that is still owned and managed by the company, should it be considered an external entity or just a process? Justify your answer.

Part 2

Often, DFDs are not created and the documentation is incomplete, so the programmers are left with the task of bridging the gap. In relation to this statement, answer the following questions:

What techniques could you use to motivate a company to include the step of creating and validating DFDs?

What are some constructive ways to change the work flow of a small to medium company to include this important tool into their SDLC?

Explanation / Answer

Part 1:-

It is just a process . It doesn't come under external entity. Becasue it is just communicating with the local computer system which is managed by the same company i.e. these systems under the same network. It is very much common in any organisation that computers commincate or interact with each other because every computer doesn't have all the infromation, so when require some infromation which is not in one computer it must interact with other computer inorder to access the data. It is just a process. When we say it is eternal entity the the computer will interact with the systems outside the network residing somewhere else.
