Explanation / Answer

1: Major source of interpersonal conflict are:

The most relevant in todays context in organisation would be external factors. The interpersonal conflcit can take different level because of such influencing factors from external body. In my organisation change in demand results in increasing sale pressure. Thus managers started to pressure their peers for more sales and revene and they started focusing more on cutting resource cost. This results in more interpersonal conflicts between them

2:Stress is some pressure or tension exrerted on individual by another individual or group of individual which creates a distubance in the equilibirum stage. More the stress more would be a person will dislike the job. Pressure handling required some mental or emtional balance and confidence to cop with it or to overcome it.

Some tips are

3: Power: It is the ability of a person or a system as such to cultivate the respect and admiration on others which helps them to execute things or getting work done by them . It will also follow by a fear factor( in the form of insecurity, survival apetite, emotional attachement etc.).

Power is actually the posession of authority.Authority is something very formal in nature which will autamoatically give some power to a person , but power is somewhat a personal ability which can be even informal in nature.

4: Five types of power are

Coercive power: It is done by creating force on other.

Legitimate power:It is created by feeling of obligation or by creating a notion of responsbility.

Referant power; developed by a role model through administrative power.

Expert power; Created by indepth information, knowledge or proper communication

Reward power; in return of expecting reward or appreciation.

5: They mostly have referent power or coercise power. Coercise was easy to exert on earlier stages in organisation as supervisors have every right to decide or delegate the work to their subordinates. gradually as system got evolved then the power has become more referant in nature.

6:It would be expert power. By influencing other by becoming a role model and lead through example.

8: Group thinking:It is a psychological phenomenon that usually occurs between group of people which they develop a harmony between them and results in an irrational or dysfunctional type of decision making. The group members will try to reduce the conflict between them by developing consesus by not going through a critical evaluation and by siolating themself from outside influences. Groupthinking is something which happen very broadly, naturally without any influence of external elements.

One typical example was

The bombing of Pearl Harbor. In this particular case many of the senior officers present at Pearl Harbor did not take any sort of warnings or instructions from Washington DC about all the potential invasion seriously by ignoring the fact that Japanese messages had been intercepted.
