Mentorship (3,3) : As in mentorship the subject learns from a mentor who knows how to work and perform but on many counts need not be able to transfer the same set of skills. As the learning is of tacit kind and more than practice the learning is through observation and is more theoretical. It is in the middle because it aids practice by following. Field trip (1,4) : in the field trip the learning is by one time or minimal exposure, though it is from direct practical environment but it is more theoretical than practice, even here the application of knowledge is tacit, and most skills can not be directly imbibed , hence it is at a 1 on the tacit side. Internship: (-4,-5): As in an internship an employee is directly involved in the work and learns the skills by practicing in real time. The knowledge transfer might not be 100% and so a -4 on the explicit side. As it is a direct practice, on the scale it stands at -5.
