Question
Business Ethics Question: A Personal Perspective, Part II In your first Learning Activity for week 1 you discussed some things that come to mind when you think of the word “ethics”. Over the course of the past 8 weeks, has your view or conception of ethics changed in any way? If yes, is there a specific moment you can identify and describe that triggered the change (a reading(s), or posting(s), discussion(s) with colleague(s) for example)? If your view or conception did not change, why do you think this is the case? How can what you learned in the course be applied in your professional and/or personal life?
Explanation / Answer
I have been working in FM station and most recently I carried out a training program as a supervisor. Carrying out a training program inside any organisation is a tough task. By implementing different strategies and introducing different motivational approaches to maintain a power between the task and myself was one of the most essential things that were done.
Most of the times I have used goal theory, with the help of the goal theory I have successfully achieved so many goals in the specific training programs.but In this situation I learnt a lesson on applying the proper techniques and putting in more efforts.
Expectancy theory is divided into the following influencing factors.
Putting in the efforts to obtain a specific goal and to obtain the required performance to successfully carry out the given work is done in the expectancy section of the expectancy theory. Indirectly say is that efforts put in the specific job would result in attainment of the desired performance goals. It is usually based on the experience of the individual and increases with the help of the self confidence.
By the time of the training program I was lacking motivation to put in maximum effort into the training and curation of the training was going wrong. Later I realise my mistake and improve myself by implementing better Strategies and putting in more efforts but it has been very late for putting in the efforts in the training programme was over.
Outcome goals
Buy successfully determining the overall outcomes of the specific training programs I failed in designing the training program as I didn't put much effort in the very beginning of the schedule. By constantly providing information to the trainees about the desired outcome and motivating them to progress themselves according to the training program was one of my main motive. But I was failed to implement this specific turn into the training program which reduce the overall efficiency of the specific job.
By having an idea about the specific outcomes .
Knowing the outcomes as well as a valuation of the outcome can very beneficial for any training program inside any organisation for improved efficiency as well as productivity. By having specific knowledge about the desired outcomes one can easily determine the level of involvement in a project.
I was failed to implement all these expected factors into my training program in the overall level of effectiveness of the training program was widely reduced and it was considered as unusable. I should have applied these factors properly in my training program it would have helped me to do the specific job in a better manner. Education of the expectancy theory would have been creating a very large difference on the outcome of the specific task
