Explanation / Answer

Answer: (1) Millennial are the people who were born after 1980 and before 2000. They are different from the other generations in a number of ways. They were more technology friendly and dedicated towards their work and preferred work over the families. The percentage of the working women in the work force increased in this generation. It is because of these characteristics that they brought both internal as well as external changes inside the organization. Internally they increased competition. They also increased the diversity in the workforce. Externally they brought a change in the consumer behaviour as customers and this resulted in the changes in the products and services provided by the companies

(2) The organizations because of these changes had to make a number of changes in their organizational structures. They had to accommodate the female staff members and ethnic minorities and offer new work formats which suits the needs of the diverse workforce. The companies also had to bring changes in their infrastructure and organizational structures to create new working arrangements.

(3) The baby boomers may have been resistance of the uncertainties which these changes brought along with them. Also there is a natural resistance to change.
