As a student majoring in Supply Chain and operation management, what are you going to be doing after your degree? Who are you going to work for? What jobs are you going to be doing? Not many students know the exact work they will be doing for the next 30 years. Which concepts and courses are relevant? How are Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma important to you and why?

There are tremendous opportunities to get involved and develop vital skills. How are you going to acquire the skills and demonstrate you have the skills needed in the real world?

What is your plan to get the most out of your degree, internship, full-time position? (500words required)

Explanation / Answer

I intend to work as a supply chain manager after completing the course. The profile deals with working with external partners for procuring parts and required raw materials for producing and creating the product and inventory. This also includes selling the product to outside markets.

The job will involve negotiation of contracts and evaluation of suppliers. The role will be important. The job profile I intend to do is of supply chain manager/logistician.

Quality management and lean six sigma methods are important as Six Sigma Process Improvement are important as rigorous approach for improvement of business processes. This is achieved by targeting the underlying causes of variation and evaluating what leads to poor performance experiences by the customer.

There are various theories and techniques that can be applied for management of the business and I intend to learn that from the course to apply it for management of business for effectiveness.

I plan to do an internship to understand the application of study and then apply for a full time position.
