Labour Management Relationship is a concept where a union and employer join together to a collective agreement to follow a system of joint consultation in decision making at the enterprise level.

Labour Management Relationship is very significant as it plays an important role in success of a business. The objectives are as broad as improving the work lives of the employees, employee-employer relationships and ultimately productivity of the firm. The Labour Management committee takes care of the contractual agreement like work timings, benefits, rules and regulations etc. Regular activities like Quality control and Check upon Safety Standards doesn’t come under the scope of this committee.

The Main objective of Labour/ Management Relationship is to increase the mutual trust between the management and the Trade Unions. Improving the working conditions, more job security,equal opportunity, equal and correct pay, higher employee morale, less grievances and increasing the involvement of the workers in the decision making process. This leads to higher employee retention, healthy and happy work environment and a strong organisation is built where both the employee and the employers care about each other.
