My score = (5+5+3+3+5+5+2+3+3+3+3+5+3)/13 =3.6923
My score falls between 2.50 and 3.75 and hence it shows moderate support for team performance by my organization’s context and team composition. It is almost near to the score that indicates its support to team performance but it needs to improve on some areas. I can find the main problem my organization have in supporting team structure is the compensation and appraisal systems. Some of the group members receive less pay compared to other members which affect the team cohesiveness. The employees who receive less pay sometimes are not ready to share the responsibilities equally thinking about the pay difference. The appraisal system that exists in our organization gives more importance to individual performance and team performance is not taken into consideration. This makes the employees to show their individual performance as the best without giving importance to team performance. It leads to lot of conflicts in the team. Hence I think the appraisal system should be redesigned in our organization to promote team work. Also the members of the particular team should be paid somewhat equally since all the team members work towards a common goal. An effective leadership also can help in improving team performance by addressing the issues on time and motivating the team to achieve the goals set. If a team does not have enough resources and skills also it can improve performance if the above said criteria are met. In my suggestion the best method to improve team performance is trying to establish equality among team members. Every member should feel that they are equally important for the team success. An effective manager can develop equality and motivate the team better than anyone.
