Organizatinal Behaviour:
Organizational behaviour is the study that deals with the individuals,groups,structures behaviour within an organization and its impact towards improving the effectiveness of an organization.It also deals with what people do in an organization and how their behaviour affects the organization's performance.It deals specifically with employment related situations and emphasizes behaviours related to jobs,employee turn over,work, absenteeism,productivity,human performance,management etc
OB also deals with how to motivate the employees,leadership behaviour of an employee exhibited during work,interpersonal communications with the other employees,their perception on others,how the group structures are formed and conflicts within the groups,attitudes of an employee,his learning abilityetc
It also deals with the work stress of an employee and how to overcome the stress and motivate the employees inorder to improve the organization performance
OB also deals with the working culture of an organization,diverse work force employed and it mainly concentrates on job satosfaction of employees because employees are the main assets of the company.
Motivation:
Motivation is the process that deals with the individuals intenstiy ,constant efforts for attaining the organization goals .Inorder to define motivation there are three words that can be used to define motivation correctly.They are intensity-How hard a employee tries to complete his given goals within the given time
Direction-with the high intensity we should work in a proper direction to achieve the goal
Persistent-How long does he try to make an attempt to achieve his goals.
These are the three main things to get motivated to achieve a goal and which inturn lead to increase in organization as well as individual performance
Motivation forms:
Job Engagement:
Job engagement is very important for an employee to be motivated to work.ie how the employee puts his effort,knowledge and energy to bring the outcome into the work given.When the employees are engaged to their job then they work enthusiastically and get motivated
Goal setting:
Goals and timelines have to be set for every employee so that they get motivated to complete the goal within time and get perfomance appraisal
Employee empowerment:
This is the important thing for an employee to get motivated when the employees suggestions are considered then the employee will feel good and will bring out more innovative ideas for the organization
Rewards and recognitions:
Employee can be rewarded for their work so that they get motivated further to improve their perfromance
Importance of employee performance:
Employees are the main assets to the company.Employees performance is mainly dependent on the organization's success
Employees output and productivity only will lead to organization growth
Product or service quality of the organization is mainly dependent on the employees performance
Every employees performance is considered for the entire organzations output so every employee must be given feedback and empowered
The organzations whole value,success and their image depends on performance of employees.If employee performance is not good then the entire organization will go down in its value and image
Motivation influence employee performance:
Rewards ans recognitions:
If employees are motivated by giving rewards for their work then they will stay committed to their work and this will increase employee performance
Training programs:
Training programs can be conducted to motivate the employees in a innovative way to achieve goals thus increasing performance of employees
Employee empowerment:
When employees are allowed to give innovative ideas and their suggestions are considered then they will be more committed to the organization this inturn will give responsibility for an employee so automatically he undertakes the responsibility of doing a good work thus employees performance will increase
Giving onsite opportunities can also create interest for employees to work in different cultures and thus share ,gain knowledge with other cultures and thus increase employee performance
Performance appraisal is also one form of motivation.ie giving feedback to the employees about their work and if any changes is to be done the employees can correct their mistakes which will lead to good performance and will reduce further mistakes in future
