Question
Doing a required document in Word. Need to insert an x/y type scatter chart.
I GUESS Excel is the thing to use? In any case, I've spent many hours so far working to format what I do have - in Excel 2007.
FINALLY, got the axis' labeled and FINALLY got the correct increments as I want them. But HOW do I get my data from my table to PLOT ONTO the chart?
I've googled all over and am finally reaching out for help. Anyone a good expert at Excel? or is there something easier EVEN considering I've just spent hours working to get what I do have on Excel?
Explanation / Answer
Go into excel. Click insert->chart->xy scatter Left click the chart and select "Select data..." This will bring you to a menu where you can add/select "series". Click on "series 1" (which should be highlighted by default), then on the right side there should be text boxes that say "Name", "x values", and "y values" Click on the box next to x values and then highlight all of your x values with you mouse. Repeat for y values. Then click "OK" and you should see data points on your graph now.
