Question
Scenario: Our customers have been complaining about the quality of the systems work we've been doing for them for the past few years. In particular, they don't like our poor on- time performance on projects. In exift interviews, several of our employees who left the organization have commented on how hard it is to work here because they are never sure of what they should be doing, or how they should be interacting with others on their program teams. Your management team has come to you with the above problem scenario that they need you to advise them on and plan a strategy to address. Write and submit a memo to your manager that describes something in your Standards Framework that you believe will address the problem Your memo should offer a general description of how your chosen Framework component(s) address the problem as described. It should then describe the long term prospects for what it will mean toExplanation / Answer
In the above scenario, there are three things that are missing. They are - Lack of Communication, Coordination and Transperancy.
Communication is a key aspect for any teamwork. When there is no communication between the team members of a project, then they try to work independently without any correlation in the work. This will definitely affect the project. All the project teams should be given a clear idea of the goal of the project, their responsibilities in the project and what is expected out of them to make the project successful. Giving specific roles to the people in the team and making them work together will make a project successful. Projects fail when there is no communication.
Coordination is an other key aspect while working in team. Lack of coordination in working will keep the projects at bay. People try to perceive things and work on their own without any coordination. Sometimes, conflicts within the teams will increase the chances of ego, and team members often become reluctant to work with other members. This will affect the project. All the team members should work together in coordination for a successful project outcome.
Trasparency is again a very important aspect. Transparency drives team performance, task ownership, accountability and better communication. When the entire project and everyone’s task and responsibility is visible to the entire team, people rise to a level of accountability and performance. Transparency also holds individuals accountable, and motivates them to deliver on their commitments. This will improve the quality of the output that needs to to delivered to the clients, the credibility of the organization, and will also increase the trust, and increases the confidence of the customers. It will also inspire the investors to invest in the resources that you need to deliver.
Therefore, if communication, coordination, and transperancy are very important for making projects successful, to increase the customer satisfaction , and to improve the employee work satisfaction.
