Explanation / Answer
This is a very critical and important issue and I believe that cell phones are important but if a serious or even a minor operation is taking place then the use of cell phones should be avoided because firstly, it is a distraction for both the patient and the surgeon and secondly operation is confidential and possess confidential details and the patient or anybody else cannot relay the information taking place. As a healthcare provider I will restrict the usage of sell phone in operations theatres and emergency departments because focus is mandatory in such situations. Use of cell phones i a distraction and may cause injury to the patient while operating hence as the surgeon is restricted to use, the patient also will not be allowed to use because it is not ethical. As conveyed the risk factor is associated with the activity which should not be carried forward or else issue will increase.
