1.Cell processor: it is a microprocessor chip with multiple core (multiple processing units) parallel processing architectures and floating point design. It is generally used to improve the processing power of the system. The job of the slave processors is to run the processes assigned by the master processor. The slave processors are always engaged in running the processes. There will be no one slave processor that will be overloaded and other that will be idle as the tasks are assigned by the master processor. The primary advantage for cell processors to have master-slave type multiprocessing is process sharing leaving no CPU/ slave idle; sharing of page and disk buffers. Symmetric multiprocessing can be other types of processing that will be suitable for this application as there will be one copy of the operating system that can be run by any CPU. However, this type is complicated when compared to the former.
