One circumstance when a company might wish to delay introducing its product is if they have an existing product that is generating positive cash flow and there are no competitors. Delaying a launch of a product can also be a good strategy to bring a product to market at a particular point in the business or buying season.)

(What factors will (or should) influence a firm's pricing strategy?

One factor that will influence a firm's pricing strategy is whether or not there is a competitor. Another factor is the likelihood that volume will decrease production costs. Also, the firm should take into account the opportunities that are available to earn profits on complementary goods and services.)

1) Can you identify one or more circumstances when a company might wish to delay introducing its product?

Yes , the company should consider delaying of a new product launch when they already an existing successful product in the same segment where there is no exisiting competition. Because the introduction of new product will eat the exisitng market for their own product which is running successfully in the market.And also when there is no competition in the segment, there is no necessity of urgency to introduce a new product unless there are field quality issues in the existing product.

2)What factors will (or should) influence a firm's pricing strategy?

Yes, competition pricing is one of the major factors for deciding a product pricing.The market situation and demand for the particular product is another important for pricing.But neverthe less the variable cost(ie material cost + direct and indirect variables) is the prime factor to decide the price of the product
