Discuss offshoring opportunities in the countries and how offshoring impact to the
countries.

Explanation / Answer

Offshoring is setting up the facilities to carry out some of the company's processes overseas in order to take the benefit of the lower costs. Many of the companies set up their manufacturing units or R&D center overseas in order to take the benefit of lower costs or the skilled labor force.

South American countries like Brazil, Peru and Uruguay have provided the skilled labor force in the field of IT and BPO sector, healthcare and product innovation and integration. Thus Chile based ITO and BPO giant Sondahas established offices across Latin America (1).

As per AT Kearney Global services location index,almost fifty countries including Brazil, Peru and Uruguay have been identified as the most competitive location for setting offshoring services. These countries are the most competitive because of the combination of factors like improved economic and political stability, low cost structure, expert and skilled human resource and adequate government support which make them appropriate for the offshoring services and exporting globally.
