Hi, i need help writing a sample size for a prospectus paper. I hit a road block and dont understand what needs to be in the propectus paper.
This is just setting up the sample size for the research section of a prospectus paper.
I have copied the research method and data analysis for the prospectus paper. The research method that will be a mixed method descriptive experimental research Survey design. To shed light on the impact of the shortage of qualified experienced Part 121 pilots on the aviation, the research question for this study will examine how this shortage is affecting the supply and demand on the aviation and military industries, and determine what these other aviation industries management strategies implemented to alleviate the pilot shortage. The hypothesis is H1: There is no effect of shortage of qualified experienced Part 121 pilots on the defense contractors, regional airlines and the military aviation industries. The alternative hypothesis is H1: There are effects of shortage of qualified experienced Part 121 pilots on the United States aviation industries. Much of the research will be done using open-ended questionnaires, closed questionnaires, and interviews with individual aviation organizations. The participants will be at least 60 participants from at least two major and regional airlines, one defense contractor organization, and at least three United States Navy and Air Force active or reserve squadrons. This researcher will be using open-ended and closed ended questionnaires around 30 questions regarding the factors that contributed to the Part 121 pilot shortage. SurveyMonkey will administer the open-ended and closed-ended questionnaires. The interviews will either be phone interviews or in person interviews with the upper management on the effects of pilot shortage to their organization and the causes. The literature review will be done on the new laws and legislations that are in effect, the past and present supply and demand affecting the regional airlines, defense contractors and the military.
Data Analysis
In analyzing the data results from the questionnaires from SurveyMonkey website, the researcher will be using descriptive statistics. By using descriptive statistics, which includes measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode), that provides this researcher a simply understanding of the data set in detail, and tells the research about the required details that help put the data in perspective (https://explorable.com/descriptive-statistics). In using mixed method design for this study, this researcher will be attempting to compare the gathered data statistics with the existing data resources from previous case studies.

Representing a prospectus paper on Pilot shortage
The main reason of pilot shortage and finding the exact cause is quite difficult because there are several factors which are needed to be highlighted to find out the root cause.
From a source survey, it has been obtained that most of the highly skilled pilots are attending the age of 65 which is the retirement age for them and also the low volume of hiring reduces the number of pilots in the organization. As there is a pilot shortage, various demands and supplies are coming from different areas which are affecting the necessity of optimum pilots to run a variable number of flights. In the research, it has been found that in air force after working for three consecutive years there is an impact of attrition among air force pilots; either they are planning to move on regional airlines or military platforms. This reduces a loss of pilots and on the other hand; the young new pilots are losing opportunities as the experienced professionals are working. This reduces a loss to the airline authority because after some years when the senior pilot attends the age of 65 years then they again call for new pilots which are cost effective for them, it needs training, grooming and license certifications to run a flight.
FAA has changed the working hours from 250 hours to 1500hours a pilot is doing overtime to fulfill the shortage. Additionally, the training cost is going high due to increasing hours of flight experiences. In defense, airlines and military sectors the shortage is more as because the management is recruiting qualified pilots from industry who are available only at a limited number. There are certain labor supply laws and rules which are very necessary to be focused because there must be some negative side of these rules which may decline the shortage rapidly. These rules and laws are very necessary to be checked before taking it grant for the pilots.
For airline pilots, some beneficial strategies are needed to build so that they can get proper compensations, ethical working environment, training cost and expenses, following of government rules, and strategically recruitment of pilots. These factors will bring an uprise in the shortage areas of the pilot in different sectors. It is also necessary to understand the supply and demand for the qualified pilots under new regulations and study of the demanding areas of the current pilot supply. Some public laws are mandatory to focus the main differences between the post-law and pre-law hired pilots to understand how the rules are affected in regional airlines.
From a survey, it has come to a point that motivates the young professionals to get an aviation certification of pilots. This will increase the supply of young pilots. Many students are not aware of aviation sectors if they are motivated strongly with sufficient knowledge they may get a certification and license for flying an aircraft. If the increase in pilot certification will be more then gradually it will require to the available number of flights per hour.
The big question is that why senior pilots of United States air force are moving to fly civilian airline sector? The attrition rates of US air force pilots are quite a high that is they are leaving the air force and joining the civilian airline. It is huge losses on both the side senior pilots are on the verge of retirement. It clearly states that again the new process of recruitment and training is necessary for a new pilot, and on the other hand US air force authority is losing an experienced pilot. In this way, pilots are affecting their educational level. Some mandatory rules are necessary to be implemented so that on either side there should not be any loss of pilots in both the department.
On the conclusion it can be said that rules, laws, planning, and strategies are to be designed properly by the management, so that no rule should violate in respective department for pilots in their compensation benefits, working hours, demand and supply, training and development and mutual interchanging departments.
