Explanation / Answer

7. A fructured cribriform plate can result in the leakage of cerebrospinal fluid into the nose and loss of smell may be observed. Ciribiform plate separates brain from nasal cavity. Cribriform is situated between anterior cranial fossa and nasal cavity. Its a part of ethmoid bone that supports olfactory nerves .these nerves provide sense of smell to humans .cribriform plate forms roof of nasal cavity. Cribriform supports olfactory bulb. If olfactory bulb gets damaged we will lose sense of smell .Fructured cribriform palate means demage to olfactory bulb which will lead ultimately to loss of smell. Forebrain part of brain gets damaged. So we lose sense of taste.
