Our organization is automobile organization, which involves in design and manufacturing of automobile components for the OEM manufacturers. Our organization is a leading organization in the commercial vehicle segment in America market and Europe market.
Our president asked for introduction of team concept in our division. We have started working on the team concept. We need to follow the following methodology of team formation and development, so that the team will be able to achieve their goals.
Team concept undergoes following stages
Team Forming Stage– This is the first stage of the team development. Here the employees are divided into groups as per the production line. Each team has assigned name. Now the team members are having initial introduction and meeting with each other as a team members. In this stage, the team made aware of their goal and targets that they needs to achieve. They made understood that what is expected from their team and all the needed resources are provided to the team. Employees are divided into team and team members are aware of their project goals and the management expectations.
Team Storming Stage – This is the second stage where the team members start working in teams and they get many conflicts and issues among the team members. This is mainly due to their individual habits/styles getting conflicting with others. This stage helps the team to get in the process of working together with resolving their conflicts and following the common process. So the teams initial issues are resolved and they started contributing as teams.
Team Norming Stage – This is the stage where the teams are started contributing normally and are trained on their individual roles and responsibilities. Here the team members are ready to achieve their assigned targets and they can meet the deadlines. So this is the stage where teams are formed and have high clarity on their roles, responsibility and started the execution of their tasks as well. The team members well known to each other and ready to contribute as a team.
Team Performing stage – This is the stage where the team is performing and achieving their goals. The management is keep monitoring the team performance. This is the final stage and now the team are self managed to manage their tasks and goals.
Hence with the above methodology, the team are formed and assigned to each production line for achieving their production targets. Now the teams are working effectively.
