Skin is the primary protector while hair and nails protect soft regions in the body against temperature variations and other external harm.
8. Sweating is a mechanism used by the body to cool down the temperature of the body. This is beneficial on hot days as it helps in maintaining temperature. However it also has disadvantages as it leads to dehydration.
