Ethical Dilemma Chapter-15-IN-Class discussion The death penalty brings up powerful emotions on both sides, and it is a source of conflict for those who are not sure how they feel. Should a person's age (under 18) or mental capacity be considered when considering the death penalty? Homework for Wednesday September, 12 Trace the history of capital punishment in your States, if not death penalty in your state. Why was it stopped and when did is start again. Google the death penalty and cite the latest executions in the country. In addition, look up Arizona and describe the last three crimes in which individuals were executed. Death penalty, also termed as Capital Punishment,is a government sanction practice, where a person is killed (mostly hanged till death) for his/her crime.

To come to such a serious decision, the court has to keep in mind, both the age as well as the mental capacity of the criminal. However there has been instances where the age criteria have seemed unfair to the public, for example, a recent rape case in India where the culprit were minor we're not killed as they were underaged! So they were matured enough to rape and kill a girl but not matured enough for the punishment! Seems unfair right?

However, if we consider cases of genuinely mentally challenged or psychopaths, maybe killing them won't be appropriate, they may need psychological treatment.

Death penalty is a legal punishment in India which began long back since 1995, the very recent one happened around 2015.
