Question

Life is filled with hard knocks. Arguably what defines a person is how they rebound from hard knocks. Businesses are many times interested in how job applicants have handled personal or business failure in their past. If an interviewer asked you about a time where life brought you to your knees and how you successfully handled the event, how would you respond? Your response should include what was the failure? How did this failure help you to become a better person, make better decisions, or succeed in a way you hadn’t imagined? Do you believe that failure is important? Why or why not?

Explanation / Answer

One such hard rock could be that of scoring phenomenally low on one of the subjects from first semester, which was due to overconfidence of knowing every thing, that resulted in bunking of classes of that particular subject. On the result day, the marks gave a major blow to the entire CGPA, which led me to believe that this was the first and the last time that over confidence was going to inhibit me from achieving my true potential, on not counting on certain tasks as inferior or mundane.

Later on, this subject taught me loads about all the other subjects and now I have a better grip on all my subjects.

Failures are very important for I do not take them as failures, to be precise, but revelations about one's characteristics and capabilites and ramifications for future use.

Failures are lessons that last forever, and help in building a better footing for success.
