A historic and defining feature of social work is the profession's focus on individual well-being in a social context and the well-being of society. Fundamental to social work is attention to the environmental forces that create, contribute to, and address problems in living. Social workers promote social justice and social change with and on behalf of clients.

One of the most important perspectives in social work is sustainability. This has become a wide spread acceptance in the current day. This could be referred to as a dynamic shift since there has been emergence of new ways through which reality could be understood. Also, it helps us in identification of what the reality is.
As a person would be understanding sustainability in the form of an environmentalist phenomenon, there would be establishment of a connection with the physical environment. As equality would be understood amongst the various environments, there was a huge oook out into various aspects of the environment.
As a result of sustainable development, ther have been interlocks between behaviors of humans, the biosphere health as well as the various resources of the environment. This allows us to look into better ways of thinking such that the biosphere could be explored in a manner that would be more engaging, for understanding relationships globally.
Challenges in social work was engaging in the various activities of social work such that there wouldn’t be damages to the biosphere further. Social workers can convince and make people aware in such forms that they would help in improvements of the environment in which people would be living along with an improvement in their well being.
The design for sustainable thinking is provided by social work. Further, actions are involved would be having several implications.
