Is it proper for a practitioner to intervene based on the culture that we exist under or do we simply report our findings? A history of culture may be something that we do not like as Anglo Saxon persons or based on our religious beliefs. This is the greatest struggle that we are dealing with right now. Ironically, we have been dealing with this issue for 200 years. After the Revolutionary War came the French Revolution, the founding fathers had a difficult time with whether or not we as a new country should help another country, a country that helped us win our independence!

As a researcher can we look away in an effort to reach the answers to a sociological or psychological problem? Does the greater good supersede the one? If a researcher is found to always report to DCF his/her findings will they be able to get true answers to the question? What if the ultimate goal is to stop behavior that makes the need for DCF obsolete?

Explanation / Answer

As a researcher we cannot look away in an effort to reach the answers to a sociologial or psychological problem.As humans these situations we deal with. Ignoring the one over the greater good might seem like a novel idea. Looking past something that WILL affect somebody and have expoential effects in thier immediate surroundings and relationships over a PROBLEM that MIGHT get solved .Looking at the situation from this perspective changes things.Put yourself in the shoes of the people.

there is a reason why we have ethics codes and rinciples that give us a roadmap so as we donot adversely affect somebody .We cannot say that the looking over a p for the greater good might create more problems .

It is not true that if a researcher reports all thier findings to the dcf that they might find true answers because of both basic human error may occur and it mght also be stuck in a beuraucratic trussle.

The ulimate goal can be to remove dcf but we are human afterall and we need regulating authoroties to prevent disasters. dcf would have to evolve as the knowledge grows and accomodate the changes because we can try to move towards an ideal condition but it seems practically impossible to reach there.
