The above two excerpts are very interesting and quite different as well. The first excerpt teaches us the value of nature, the differences in culture, and the importance of passing down knowledge. This can be seen in the examples of how various leaves and bugs from nature are enough to cure diseases that modern medicines have now found the solutions to. The differences in culture can be seen in the exchange from the Aborginal people and White Man. A lot can be learnt from each other if we give the chance to listen to each other. The third part of the passage is how important it is to disseminate information from one generation to the next as it can get easily lost. Perhaps a better form of saving this information would be to form anectdotal records as well. The last excerpt takes on a more moral and fable format. It shows us how we need to give everyone a chance and sometimes we need to take the route less explored. We believe that Bravery and Strenght is enough to move mountains, but sometimes kind acts and soft words are just as sufficient.
