Explanation / Answer

Containment policy can be described as policy of an American home based on male oriented earning source and a traditional housewife structure. It was designed to find the Communism after the World War II.
Domestic containment theory was mainly developed for creating an orientation towards the government and its policies after the second world war. Women were treated as housewife and their main job is to handle the house and children. To regain the world application of the American government, domestic containment widely help. The following containment theory widely held their local minorities as well as support to the different classes of the society. Discontentment policy also helped during the cold war to maintain the balance between development of different aspects of the society. America was widely criticized for not letting their citizens grow equally in the society by implementing the domestic containment policies. These policies helped America to grow more readily in the society and to survive in a better way.
As the culture of United States of America move forward to the more open society with equal balance between men and women, domestic containment values include women to stay home which was not possible in more open culture in the independent culture during 1960. And the time changed and culture became more open domestic containment theory was proven unacceptable to the society as it was directly against the principle of independent culture.
As concept of domestic containment went against the direct principles of the independent culture, it was very sure that this won't work for the 1960 era of independent Youth Culture.
