Answer 1.
Aging becomes more evident during middle adulthood (between 40 and 65). Eyes start losing their ability to adjust to objects placed at varied distances. Most adults would require corrective lenses for vision deficit during this age. People at middle age are at a high risk of certain eye problems than younger adults. Besides this, there is a gradual decline in hearing as well with skin continually getting drier and wrinkles starting to show up on sensitive areas such as face. Blood vessels and aging spots are more evident at this age and skin continues to become thinner and drier than before. The ration of muscle to fat changes throughout this period and you accumulation of flab in stomach region is clear.
Women, as they attain middle adulthood, start to experience a gradual decline in their fertility with menopause being round the corner that is by the age of 50. The aging process in middle adulthood includes hormonal changes as well and may be present from 6 months to 5 years. With shifting levels of hormones, women who are going through menopause tend to experience other symptoms and these include poor memory, depressive mood, less interest in sexual activity, and inability to focus and concentrate.
Answer.2
There are basically two types of intelligence viz. fluid and crystallized. While crystallized intelligence is mainly based upon the experience and accumulated knowledge—it refers to the skills, information, and strategies gathered throughout the lifetime of an adult. Such intelligence is usually steady with aging —in fact, this intelligence may even improve further. On the other hand, fluid intelligence is largely dependent on the skills of basic information-processing. This intelligence starts to reduce even before middle adulthood. Furthermore, there is a slowing down of cognitive processing during middle adulthood. Besides this, dividing attention and solving problems becomes difficult. But, at the same time, practical skills of problem-solving are on a rise. These skills are a must to be able to solve real-world problems and puzzle out how to achieve a goal without fail.
