Explanation / Answer
The two sites compared are LG and Sony global sites.
The LG site is visually impressive, and provides information about the latest products with a brief introduction through interactive consumer interface. It offers links to videos to learn more about the products. The product collection offers many choices for the consumers to select, though the relative differentiation between them is diffficult to understand, with the technical details not siplified for an average user who is not conversant with many technologies listed on the site. It is easy to select the model according to size. price and techniques, though the purchase is through retailer only, addresses of whom are given. In some case prices are not given and the consumer is asked to confirm the price with retailer only, making it difficult for a buyer to make a choice online and a visit to retailer ( online or offline) in any case is necessary. Consumer reports have been given on the main page to authenticate the claims of the company.
The Sony site though does not look as impressive as LG site in color scheme and illustraions to attract the customer at a glance, but it reveals itself as one explores deeply. There are comparatively few products, but the information is more clearly communicated to the buyers through videos, illustrations and specifications. This site offers more information in usability features. The reviews of customers are given with the models only. The ease of finding and comparing the product is difficult as compared to LG. The products can be bought thorugh online or offline retailers only, the addresses of whom are given with the product. The prices are given in most of the cases and zeoing in on a model is easy for a customer.
Both the sites use very good user interface with interactive selection, comparison and information tools that offer information through links to videos and multimedia in addition to conventional methods. For buying, it links the customers to e commerce sites where the product can be purchased with ease.
