Question
Produces Rh antigens antibodies Can Receive to These Can Dnate Rh Type in Blood against Rh Blood from Blood Cells? (Y/N) antigen? These Types Types (Y/N) Donor #1 Donor #2 Donor #3 Donor #4 uestions 1) what would happen if Donor #1 was given blood from Donor #37 Why? 2) What would happen if Donor #2 was given blood from Donor #47 why? When someone donates blood, the blood is mixed with a form of chemical called an anticoagulant. What is an anticoagulant and how is it helpful for the storage of blood for future use? 3) Besides blood type incompatibility, what other precautions do you think must be taken prior to the transfusion of blood? 4) Usually before blood from one donor is transfused into a recipient, medical personnel will request a procedure called cross-matching be performed. Research and explain cross-matching and why it is a helpful procedure. 5)Explanation / Answer
1) Answer:
As we know that the Rh+ is having the antigen whereas they are not having the Rh antibodies thats why they can only donate the blood to Rh+.
because if they donate the Rh+ blood to Rh- the antibodies which are present in Rh- blood will attack the antigen that are present in Rh+.
2) Answer:
The Rh- can only receive blood from Rh-. But while donating the Rh- blood thay can be able to donate to both Rh+ and Rh- as this is due to the fact that Rh- is having no antigen so due to which they could not be attaked whereas the Rh+ is shaving no antibodies to perform the task of attacking.
3)
Anticoagulants are aslo called as the blood thinners so this is the type of the chemicals which will help to prevent the blood from caogulation that means they will inhibit the blood to make the coagulation. As for the future use the blood is required for transfusion or for any other purpose so the anticoagulant is present in the bag in which the blood is stored and may help to prevent the blood from coagulated and may also reduce the cloting of the blood.
4)
The precaution such as whether the doner is suffering form any of the infectious disease apart from this the detail examination of the disease such as AIDS and hepatitis should be done whether the doner is suffering from any of this disease. the hemoglobin level should also be checked, etc. These precaution should be taken prior to the blood transfusion.
